6 Awesome Google+ Hashtag “Do’s” and “Don’ts”

Wondered how and when you should be using Google+ hashtags? Everypost has created an awesome infographic giving excellent advice on Google+ hashtag usage.

Implement the following “do’s” and “don’ts” and prevent your Google+ page looking from looking spammy, whilst building your target audience.


Tip #1

Do pair your hashtags with images.

Don’t try to replace quality posts with hashtags.

Tip #2

Do aim to use 2 – 3 hashtags per post.

Don’t #hashtag #every #word #in #your #post.

Tip #3

Do include hashtags when you post to communities.

Don’t #useverylonghashtagsthatarehardtoread.

Tip #4

Do take advantage of trending hashtags that relate to your content.

Don’t use trending hashtags without knowing why they are trending.

Tip #5

Do run hashtag-connected campaigns and track metrics related to those campaigns.

Don’t use hashtags for trending topics not connected to what your post is about.

Tip #6

Do lookup hashtags in Google+ Explore first.

Don’t use incorrect hashtags.
